At long last fans can commence: opening five minutes of Stranger Things 5 shared.

The fifth season of Netflix's otherworldly phenomenon the show is set to be among the most anticipated releases of the year. Part one airs on the 27th of November, however a preview of the eerie first five minutes has been released digitally.

The Beginning: An Echo to 1983

The episode, titled the prologue, brings audiences back to the start of the show in the year 1983, after the vanishing of Will Byers.

"Do I remain or leave?" he vocalizes as he tries to stay collected in the parallel world.

Things quickly become frightening the moment a fearsome beast materializes and yanks Will to the stronghold of Vecna. "Finally, our work can start," he says to the captive as propelling a vine down his throat. "You and I, we are going to do truly magnificent things in unison."

Release Schedule and Theater Showings

The concluding half of the last season is scheduled to premiere on the day after Christmas, with the last chapter released on the first of January – and will also have screened in select theaters.

Plot Summary

The description explains: "The season of the late '80s. The setting is scarred by the creation of dimensional tears, and our heroes are united by a single goal: locate and eliminate Vecna. But he has disappeared – his whereabouts and plans unclear. Complicating the task, the government has put the community under military quarantine and stepped up the pursuit for the character, forcing her back into hiding. When the anniversary of Will's disappearance looms, arrives a heavy, recognizable anxiety. The ultimate conflict is on the horizon – and alongside it, an evil mightier and more dangerous than all they have encountered before. To end this nightmare, they will require all members – the complete team – united, for the final time."

Production Insights

The unexpected preview was posted to YouTube after the show's Los Angeles premiere a few days ago, with appearances from cast members including Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour.

"The scope of the season is bigger … It's more action and enhanced CGI, but it is likewise easily the most poignant series as it concludes of the narrative for each of these personas," the show's executive producer, commented of the concluding installments.

The other creator and co-creator, remarked: "Releasing it for audiences is nerve-racking, but we are prepared to unveil it finally."
