Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place this past week, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's achievements, the gifted cast also received personal awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers won seven awards during the ceremony.
Other major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only 4 special—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough Award, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—determined by experts.
