The relatives of teens lost after a devastating inferno at a venue in a Swiss winter destination are enduring an agonising period of uncertainty for official news and pleading for any details about their family members via social media.
The blaze ripped through the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Circulated video depict the roof structure igniting as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.
Emergency services have warned that it could take an extended period to formally name the victims of the tragedy, which killed four dozen individuals and injured another scores more. A spokesperson stated on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work continuing to locate the remaining few.
