Thousands Left Without Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the region, generating powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Residents witnessed large ice chunks as large as 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that various areas across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair power throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews activated to address the extensive power failures.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations responded to over five hundred calls for help across the area, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At the height on the previous day, over 28,000 power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk expected across different parts of both states.

Health officials alerted that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
