Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world offered sympathy for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
