The Alan Turing Institute will carry out a scientific research initiative specifically designed to safeguard Britain from malicious attacks, according to a recent announcement.

This new direction follows major restructuring at the state-funded body, including the departure of its previous CEO last month after both employee protests and ministerial calls for strategic overhaul.

Increasing Digital Threats

The latest project comes amid rising apprehension about the nation's susceptibility to online disruptions and online threats.

The institute's chair, a previous Amazon UK leader, confirmed that 78 different research projects at the organization with 440 employees have been closed, transferred out or completed because they do not align with the revised strategy.

The center has faced organizational challenges since last year as employees objected against restructuring, culminating in a collection of workers submitting a formal grievance to the proper supervisory commission.

The center's administration stated that these employee allegations were third-party reviewed by a neutral third party that found them to have lack merit.
